“Back to my roots. Riesling is one of the greatest white wines in the world and was the first variety I fell in love with. In 1981, just back from a year apprenticeship in Germany, I planted – with the help of family and friends – the Columbia Gorge Vineyard in Hood River. The vines are now getting old and gnarly but are producing wonderful quality fruit.” Elevation is 275’ and soils are Wind River series.

Just three miles up Country Club Road from our tasting room is this wonderful site. At 1050’ elevation and with volcanic loam soils the own-rooted Pommard clone Pinot Noir grown here produces delicious, balanced fruit and leads to beautiful wines.
Allegre Vineyard

Pat Allegre planted this vineyard four years ago on land farmed by his grandparents. The three acre site on Erhck Hill Road just off of Hwy 35 in Hood River is managed with the help of friend Jen Kroner. Pat’s father always wanted him to be a farmer, but Pat had other ambitions, spending the 70s and 80s drumming for a rock band and traveling the world. Although his dad didn’t live to see it, Pat is now the third-generation farmer of the land.

This steep hillside vineyard rests at 1200’ stealing some of the best views in the Columbia Gorge. This vineyard is owned and managed by Joe & Vicki and Jack and Mary Brady. Underwood Mountain, an extinct volcano, lies in the rainshadow of the Cascade Range and sees about 38 inches of annual rainfall (mostly between November-May) followed by warm, windy summers.
